Stoneflies & Salmonflies are often misunderstood. While Stoneflies and Salmonflies are both aquatic insects they are not actually the same thing.
Salmonflies are much larger than Stoneflies requiring size #02 - #10 size hooks and Stoneflies are smaller in the #10 - #16 range, but the patterns used are often the same.
