Zug Bug
The Zug Bug is a classic old-school nymph pattern that continues to produce fish in rivers, streams, and lakes across the country. Originally designed to imitate caddis nymphs, this proven fly features a flashy peacock herl body that acts as a powerful attractor while still maintaining a natural buggy appearance trout find irresistible.
Its unique tail and soft movement make the Zug Bug effective in a wide variety of water conditions. Smaller sizes imitate caddis and mayfly nymphs, while larger sizes can also represent stonefly and salmonfly nymphs. A versatile trout fly that belongs in every fly box.

Fishing Tips
Fish the Zug Bug under an indicator, as a dropper beneath a larger attractor fly, or drift naturally through riffles, seams, and deeper runs. Particularly effective when trout are feeding on caddis and other active aquatic insects.
